We ask you to contribute towards the cost of your child attending preschool.

The parent contribution is $320 per year. You can choose to pay the total amount at the beginning of the year, pay over 3 terms as invoiced by the kindy or set up a direct debit payment plan in negotiation with the Director.

What to bring

Each day your child will need a bag packed with

  • change of clothes (for accidents and wet/messy play)
  • drink bottle containing water
  • fruits or vegetables for morning snack
  • healthy packed lunch

Please write your child’s name on all their belongings.

Please use an insulated container and an ice brick or frozen water bottle to keep lunches cool. Place lunch boxes in the lunch trolley when you arrive. Morning snack in placed in their locker with their bag.

Kindy will provide a hat for each child that will be kept on site until they transition to school.

What not to bring

Children should not bring these things:

  • nuts or foods containing nuts
  • unhealthy food (lollies, chocolate, etc) these foods can be enjoyed at home
  • toys from home

We currently have a child enrolled with a severe nut allergy and are therefore a nut free site. This may change depending on the children enrolled in the future.

Kindergarten photos

Each year a photographer visits the kindergarten to take individual and group photos. Photo packages will be available to purchase and extra photos may be re-ordered for family and friends.

Dental, health and support services are available locally and we provide support services on site. Please speak to us about additional services.

Please let us know if your child is unwell and can’t attend kindergarten.

Playgroup

We currently do not run a playgroup at Hackham East Kindergarten. There are playgroups available at Hackham Family Centre which are operated by Junction Australia.

OSHC is available at Hackham East Primary School for children once they have turned 4. OSHC staff escort children to kindy in the morning and kindy staff escort them back to OSHC in the afternoons. There are also school holiday programs available. Please contact oshc.director286@schools.sa.edu.au for more information.

Disability support

There is support available for children with disability. Talk to us for more information.

Enrolments

You can register your interest to enrol your child with us by using the preschool registration of interest form. This form is also available from us.

Try to register your interest by 30 June, but you can do this any time during the year.

Priority will be given to children living in our catchment area. If you don’t live in our catchment area you should indicate at least 2 other preschool options on your form.

If we can give your child a place with us we’ll send you an offer letter in term 3. You can accept the offer by filling in and sending back the acceptance slip by the due date.

Before your child starts

Transition visits are available during term 4. This is an opportunity for your child to meet the staff and other children. Details will be provided during the enrolment process.
